Burna Boy, a Nigerian Afrobeat artist will debut as a producer in Nollywood

Winner of the Grammy Award for Afrobeat music from Nigeria, Burna Boy, is about to make his production debut in Nollywood with the thriller "Three Cold Dishes," which tackles the horrifying problem of sex trafficking.

The film, directed by Asurf Oluseyi, centers on three teens who were forced into prostitution and who reconnected 13 years later in an attempt to exact revenge.
Black Mic Mac co-produces the film alongside Ifind, Alma Prods., Asurf Films, and Martian Network. Variety adds that Burna Boy, who co-founded Spaceship Films with Bose Ogulu, would function as executive producer.

As part of a new slate from Black Mic Mac, a production brand established last year by industry veteran Pape Boye and Logical Pictures, the Last Last singer is stepping into the world of filmmaking. By presenting a wide range of voices through an eclectic roster of motion pictures and television shows, this project aims to support talent from Africa and the Middle East.

By supporting both up-and-coming and seasoned artists, Black Mic Mac hopes to make a big impact in the African music scene.
Burna Boy is the latest musician to enter the Nollywood scene and increase his impact. Recently, Tiwa Savage acted in and executive produced "Water and Garri," her first full-length feature film, which debuted on Prime Video on May 10, 2024.

Prominent singers such as Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage's involvement in Nollywood underscores the growing convergence of Nigeria's music and film sectors, propelling the nation's cultural impact on the international scene.
